November Rankings: El Tayeb back to WR3, Marwan ES back in Top 10…

The Ladies….

Let’s start with a nice bow, as the PSA World Ranking is AGAIN dominated by three Egyptians, CIB Raneem El Welily, Nour El Sherbini – who is at the moment in trouble with her knee but she’ll get sorted very soon Insha’Allah – and now CIB Nour El Tayeb who played musical chair with French Camille Serme.

El Tayeb had a successful September, beating the Enigmatic Butterfly El Welily to win the China Open title at the beginning of the month, before reaching the final of the San Francisco Open, bowing to the same opponent in the final.

If CIB Nouran Gohar drops one place at 5, her consistency confirms the remarkable stats of having 4 Egyptians in the top 5….

Incredible progression from World Junior Champion CIB Hania El Hammamy, who turned up senior only on the first of this month, who moves up four places to No.11 after reaching semi-finals at both the China Open and Open de France in Nantes last month.

CIB Salma Hany drops a place to No.15, while Yathreb Adel remains at No.16, with Zeina Mickawy rounding off the top 20.

The Men

If CIB Ali Farag is still World Number 1, back-to-back title wins at the China Open and San Francisco Open have seen World No.2 Mohamed ElShorbagy cut the gap between himself and World No.1 Ali Farag to 341 points.

ElShorbagy defeated Farag in the final of the China Open, and followed that up by defeating World No.3 CIB Tarek Momen in last night’s Oracle NetSuite Open final. He has spent 40 months at the top the World Rankings during his career, but surrendered that mantle to Farag in March of this year, and has been playing catch-up ever since.

CIB Karim Abdel Gawad, who will make his first appearance of the season at this month’s U.S. Open, takes the other spot inside the top five, making, like for the ladies, 4 Egyptians in the top 5…

CIB Mohamed Abouelghar drops one sport at No.8 but it’s newest addition to the CIBSquashTeam  Marwan ElShorbagy return to the top 10, ending  a six month absence.

Omar Mosaad stays No.13, while Fares Dessouky rises a place to No.14, swapping places with Zahed Salem, who falls to No.15.
